After three weeks of climbing Gaon’s Korean album chart, Busker Busker‘s first album has now fallen back to position 7. The falling is reflected also on the total digital Korean chart, where the songs on the album have fallen more than ever before.
Climbing a bit on the album chart is Peppertones Beginner’s Luck that moves up two spots to position 48. Instead moving down two spots, to position 49, is the soundtrack for Shut Up! Flower Boy Band.
The new Free Market album My Present entered the album chart at position 96, but failed to make any mark on the digital track chart. Instead the only new indie related tracks entering the chart are more on the mainstream side, with Daylight‘s new single and a new song from Park Jiyoon.

It’s yet another week with Busker Busker climbing Gaon’s album chart while the album songs move down a bit on the digital track chart. Their first album currently holds position 2, two up since last week.
Peppertones have been falling on both track and album chart, with their new album Beginner’s Luck falling twenty four spots down to position 50. After having no less than three albums on Gaon’s album chart last week, Nell now have none. The soundtrack for Shut Up! Flower Boy Band (닥치고 꽃미남 밴드) has made a sudden jump up to position 47 on the album chart.
Besides new positions and Nell’s “Cliff Parade” falling out of the top 200, looking at the Korean indie music tracks on Gaon’s total Korean digital chart there aren’t that many changes since last time.

After keeping position 2 on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart for three weeks, as the chart for the week of May 19 was revealed Busker Busker had to see their album lead track give way to two other songs. First there was Girls’ Generation subunit TTS climbing to position 2 with “Twinkle” after debuting lower on the chart last week, then there was IU‘s “복숭아 (Peach)” making its debut on position 3. Since last week Busker Busker’s “전활 거네” has fallen out of the top 50, which is all that’s visible to non-biz users. The other Busker Busker songs are currently placed as follows:
4. “벚꽃 엔딩” (-2)
14. “여수 밤바다” (-5)
15. “첫사랑” (-4)
25. “꽃송이가” (-7)
34. “외로움 증폭장치” (-9)
45. “이상형” (-16)
There is no more Nell in the top 50, but Oksang Dalbit entered the chart at position 39 with their “선물할게”.

Much like last week Busker Busker could see their songs falling on the digital chart while their first album did a bit of climbing on the album chart, this time moving up one spot to position 4.
Peppertones‘ Beginners Luck has been moving down 18 spots on the album chart, landing it at position 26. The songs have taken an even bigger fall, with only album lead track “행운을 빌어요” still in the top 200 of the Korean total digital chart.
Things are looking similar for Nell, with Slip Away down fifteen spots to position 58 on the album chart and only two songs from the album still on the digital chart. On the positive side, some of Nell’s older albums have seen big sales increases with Separation Anxiety from 2008 landing at position 74 and Healing Process from 2006 at position 93.
Many indie songs fell out of the top 200 on the digital chart with only two songs from Oksang Dalbit‘s new mini album Each Other.

After late night recordings in February and planned for a release in March, Oksang Dalbit’s new mini album 서로 (Each Other) has finally been released. The mini album opens with a duet with UV‘s Yoo Sae Yoon called “Bird” and also includes a couple of tracks inspired by the duo’s trip to Zambia for EBS’ global documentary project.
The digital version of Each Other was released on May 3rd and the CD release followed on May 4th. The CD version comes with two bonus tracks–”옥탑라됴3″, which follows the two “옥탑라됴” songs from Oksang Dalbit’s previous mini album and first full-length album, and a live version of “염소 4만원”–and is also available in a limited numbered edition.
Also on May 4th, part two of the soundtrack for SBS Plus drama I Love You was released. Following Taru‘s “Wake Me Up” this time the soundtrack features Oksang Dalbit, who also had a song on the soundtrack for the movie with the same name, singing a new song called “그대와 나”. Also included on part two of the soundtrack is a song called “봄이 오면” performed by Lee Young Hoon and Oksang Dalbit’s Kim Yoon Ju.

Acoustic duos 10cm and Oksang Dalbit (sometimes dubbed ‘the female 10cm’) held a joint concert in March. Daum Music’s Pop-Up TV was there and filmed all four of them as they performed a joint version of 10cm’s “살”:

Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart for the week of March 24 was published today and we find 10cm moving two spots down to position 29. While the previous week indicated that not many artists are willing to put their music up against Big Bang, no less than eight songs from seven different artists debuted above 10cm this week.
Climbing past 10cm since last week is Blue Berry‘s “넌 내애인이고 사랑이고 운명이야” that debuted on the chart last week. Instead falling behind 10cm are Block B‘s “NalinA (난리나)”, Hyorin‘s “I Choose To Love You (널 사랑하겠어)“, Sunnyhill‘s “The Grasshopper Song (베짱이 찬가)“, Gavy NJ‘s “그러고도 남자야”, Taw & HaHa ’s “사랑”, Hyorin, Jiyeon and Ailee‘s “Super Star” and Big Bang’s “Intro (Alive)”.
Debuting lower on this week’s chart are Skull‘s “쓰레기”, featuring Oksang Dalbit, at position 43 and Shut Up! Flower Boy Band song “Love U Like U” sung by Infinite‘s L and Two Months‘ Kim Yerim at position 48.

In January Joa Band and Dalmoon headed to Zambia for two weeks while getting filmed for an EBS documentary. Turns out the documentary is part of EBS’s “global project” 나눔, scheduled for broadcast on February 27th at 10:40pm.

New duo Poetree will release their first album, 사랑해, 희망없이 on January 17th and it has acoustic duo Dalmoon featured on the opening track, “흐린 뒤, 맑음”. The songs are all supposed to have a touch of soul and folk music with a bit of modern rock for main track “Lost”. The release appears k-pop oriented, with artists such as Hwa Yo Bi, Alli, and Brown Eyed Soul‘s Jung Yup featured.
